tell me more about your hard drive backup service...
There are times when you don't have a big enough hard drive or the time to backup your Macintosh or MacBook.
I can offer either temporary data storage for a few days (if your Mac is going off for repair), or i can clone your data to a newer hard drive (if you're replacing) or another Macintosh (if you're upgrading). If you're heading off overseas, i can even offer you an offsite backup (as an encrypted disk image) for a few months or longer if required. I've been doing this sort of thing for years for many clients, both big and small. If you require total security, you can enter the passwords in yourself :)
* about restoring from backups to a newer Mac
Generally it's straightforward, however if your new Mac is running a newer version of Mac OS X than your old Mac,
there may be some fiddling about with updating software beforehand. I will charge a $77
hourly rate for this (it's usually no more than an additional 2 hours).

i can help out with hard drive backup, directory repairs and upgrade/replacement, beyond this, please call your local Apple Repair centre for other hardware repairs. If your hard drive is suffering from a mechanical failure and is making noises and is unaccessible and the data
is invaluable to you, please shut down your Mac and get in contact with Xyber in St Leonards, Sydney. They are expensive
but are worth it if your data needs be recovered. I don't do data recovery.
do you sell hard drives?
yes, i can arrange one if you require. I recommend Seagate Barracuda drives. Please allow 1-3 days so i can obtain
one. A 1.5gb HD is about $200.
do you do film work?
yes, i'm available for film location work (in Australia, time permitting) that requires remote internet & networking services
(ADSL, Next G, VSAT, BGAN, 802.11 P2P wireless). Previous productions: 'Australia' and 'Moulin Rouge!'
